However, the sector continues to face challenges related to productivity, rising input costs, production, distribution, market access, and risk.

Effective Agriculture Cost Management can help address these challenges by optimizing resources, reducing costs, improving productivity, strengthening supply chains, enhancing market access, and promoting sustainable farming practices.Agricultural growth is also vital for reducing poverty, ensuring food security, and supporting inclusive economic development.

The Agriculture Cost Management Board (ACMB) is committed to promoting efficient and sustainable cost-management practices across the agricultural value chain. Its key focus areas include:

• Revenue management and cost control
• Cost-benefit analysis
• Supply-chain and inventory management
• FPO management and capacity building
• Research, networking, and institutional collaboration
• Research, networking, and institutional collaboration
• Cost and returns optimization and risk minimization

ACMB will develop practical cost-management tools, conduct research, provide training and capacity building, and facilitate knowledge sharing among farmers and other stakeholders.

Through a focused action plan, ACMB aims to build a more efficient, profitable, resilient, and sustainable agricultural sector, contributing to stronger livelihoods and India’s overall economic development.
